Movie Night!
We’ve always loved going to the movies, but found it difficult bringing our daughter Ruby to the movie theatre because she doesn’t like to sit still for long periods of time. She loves to get up and stretch and move around, and sing and talk while watching a movie. We attended the Autism Society Member’s movie night recently and saw Disney’s Strange World. The atmosphere was so inclusive and accepting of any way a child wants to watch a movie. Whether it’s sitting in a chair eating popcorn, cuddled up on the floor with blankets and pillows, or running around, making noise and playing. It was such a wonderful experience to bring Ruby to the “movies” and not have to worry and just let her be her most comfortable awesome self. We love all the events that the Autism Society organizes!
