Access Cards and Travel for Individuals with Disabilities
At WestJet, we’re here to make your journey as comfortable as possible. If you need help getting to your seat with the Eagle lift device or a slide board, we offer accessible seating with armrests that lift for easier access.
Let us know your needs at least 48 hours before your flight, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. If you contact us within 48 hours of departure, we’ll review your request and help where we can, based on seat availability.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool for you to voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.
Globally 1 in 6 of us live with a disability. That is approximately 1.3 billion people. As diverse as these conditions are, so are your individual access needs and the barriers you face in your daily life. So you can opt to wear the Sunflower to discreetly be seen in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.
A parking placard allows people who cannot walk 50 metres (164 feet) to use disabled parking stalls.
The placards are issued to individuals who provide proper proof that they meet the requirements.
There are 3 types of parking placards:
- a temporary placard, issued for between 3 and 12 months
- a long-term placard, issued for 5 years
- a permanent placard that can be renewed every 5 years by the client without additional medical certification

Wishes are full of fun and joy, but the impact on sick children and families is much bigger than that. A wish is essential to improve the health outcomes of children with critical illnesses.
We create life-changing wishes for Canadian children with critical illnesses. Wishes help replace fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope that anything is possible.
The Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) program helps Albertans with long-term disabilities, chronic illness or terminal illness. The program provides funding for basic medical equipment and supplies so clients can live independently at home and within their communities.
