At the Autism Society of the RMWB, we understand that navigating disability supports and services can be overwhelming. That’s why our Caregivers Network is here to help. Our Disability Resource Coordinator provides one-on-one support to individuals, caregivers, and parents of those with disabilities, ensuring they can access the resources they need.
How We Support You
Our Disability Resource Coordinator offers personalized guidance and assistance in accessing various disability-related supports in Alberta, including:
- Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Applications – Assistance in understanding and completing applications for FSCD services.
- Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Applications – Support in accessing funding and services for adults with developmental disabilities.
- Guardianship/Trusteeship Applications – Help with navigating legal processes to ensure the well-being of individuals who require assistance in decision-making.
- Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) Information – Guidance on setting up and managing an RDSP for long-term financial security.
- Disability Tax Credit (DTC) Information – Assistance in applying for the DTC to access financial benefits.
- Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Information – Support in accessing funding for medical and mobility aids.
- Monthly Caregivers Coffee – A welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and find community support.
- Navigation of Resources – Helping individuals and families connect with local and provincial services that meet their needs.
